PETROSA AGENCY
Petromar has an agency agreement with PetroSA to manage the marketing and distribution of PetroSA’s petrochemical downstream products. The contract covers the region defined as the Far East. This comprises South East Asia (8 countries), South Korea, Japan, Hong Kong and The People’s Republic of China.
Products are sold through a network of distributors. End users include Paint Companies, Automotive Manufacturers, Thinners Producers, General Purpose Solvent Blenders and the Textile Industry.

TRADING AND WHOLESALING OF PETROLEUM PRODUCTS
Petromar is a licensed wholesaler of Petroleum Products in South Africa. The licence was granted by the Department of Energy under licence no. - W/2008/0084. This allows Petromar to source bulk petroleum products from Oil Companies and other licensed wholesalers, and re-sell these to industrial, retail, commercial and government customers who are all end users
Products include Diesel, Unleaded Petrol, Lead Replacement Petrol, Liquefied Petroleum Gas, Aviation Gasoline, Jet Fuel, Biofuels and Paraffin. Petromar is working to expand its customer base in the fuels sector so to increase its foothold and gain market share.
Petromar has an account with PetroSA for the supply of petroleum products. PetroSA in turn has various accommodation arrangements with other Oil Companies in South Africa, a process which allows Petromar and other wholesalers to lift products out of various depots in South Africa.
Petromar also has firm relations with truck companies who provide Petromar with tankers to transport the products from the loading points to customer sites.

TRADING IN COMMODITIES
Petromar has also been involved in the export of commodities out of South Africa into China. This was primarily motivated by the request of Petromar’s Chinese Distribution Structure. This is in part a diversification strategy from petrochemicals into minerals. The strategy involves using the existing marketing, administrative and financial resources within the company.Products that were shipped include chrome ore concentrates, and chrome ore lumps. These commodities are sourced from South African mines and processing plants. Petromar intends on looking and developing other commodities in the long run.
